Awards
Our "Partnering for Compliance Mentor of Excellence Awards" for volunteers are a highlight of our training and education program. Our first 'Mentor of Excellence Award' is granted annually to an employee of any company who undertakes to mentor a small-to-medium business (SMB) throughout the year in export/import control regulations. This award recognizes the important role of mentoring and partnering between the larger corporations and our SMBs to ensure that our SMBs - the backbone of our economy - remain compliant, vibrant and successful. We strongly encourage robust participation in this voluntary program as a means of strengthening our global market share for our exporters.
Our second 'Mentor of Excellence Award' is granted to an employee of any company for outstanding 'in-house' mentoring of employees that ensures corporate-wide understanding of U.S. export/import control regulations. Collaborative training and communication skills will be major factors in this award.
If you are aware of such any such mentors, or indeed if you are a mentor, who will be attending our annual "Partnering for Compliance" training and education program, we would like to hear from you with the following details:
(1) Your full name (as the Nominator), company's name, your title in the company, address, email address and telephone number; (2) The full name of the Nominee, company's name, the Nominee's title in the company, address, email address and telephone number; and (3) A brief description of the mentoring carried out by the Nominee during the year.
For the SMB 'Mentor of Excellence Award', please include details of the SMB that has been mentored. The Nominator, the Mentor and the Mentee(s) will be recognized at the conference. The winning Mentors must be present at our "Partnering for Compliance" program in order that the awards can be presented. Nominations must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the conference. Unfortunately, nominations received after that time cannot be considered.
A panel of independent judges, to include a government representative, will decide who receives these awards. The judging criteria will be based on the level of mentoring that has taken place over the year to include time spent mentoring, the success of the business(es) mentored and, in the case of the SMB award, appreciation shown by the mentee(s). The judges' decision will be final in all cases. The mentee(s) for the SMB "Mentor of Excellence Award" must at all times show and have consideration for the mentor's time and efforts. Your partnering and mentoring efforts are enormously helpful in encouraging and enhancing our national security and our economic growth. We deeply appreciate the ongoing partnering by all mentors, particularly given the current stressful work environment.
